The Navy thanks you for your participation in the NEPA environmental review process. The public has an important role in the evaluation of the Navy's Proposed Action. Community input received during the process is reflected in the final content of the EIS.

Public Scoping Meetings

The Navy previously held public scoping meetings to solicit the views of the community on existing and proposed Navy training activities at SSTC. Comments and questions received by the Navy during the public scoping period are being incorporated into the Draft EIS as appropriate.

At each Scoping Meeting, informational posters and a video were presented. Navy representatives were available to inform attendees about the NEPA process, the Proposed Action, Navy stewardship activities, and the protective and conservation measures now in place or proposed to be implemented. Government agencies, community organizations, and general members of the public were encouraged to submit comments on the proposed scope of the EIS. The Navy carefully considered each comment it received, and worked to address them in the Final EIS.
